The family of a pharmacist who served a Merseyside community for 20 years have paid tribute following his death at the age of 46.
Edward John Scarisbrick worked as a pharmacist at Rowland's Pharmacy in Newton-le-Willows since he was in his twenties, and is remembered by many as a "big helper". Edward's wife, Samantha Scarisbrick said: "He was a helper to the whole community, both in Burscough, and where he worked as a community pharmacist in Newton-Le-Willows for 20 years.
"He was a Beaver's helper in the 45th Ormskirk Methodist group, a Governor at Burscough Village Primary School and reading mentor for many years when his children Alice and Jacob were pupils there."

Edward died in his sleep in the early hours of September 27, having spent some time in hospital while struggling with his mental health. Samantha added: "Edward was a regular contributor to the Facebook community forum, having many debates on the local community issues. We as a family are deeply saddened by this sudden loss but are thankful for the many messages of condolence that we have been sent.
"If you would like to pay tribute to our Eddie please donate to the British Heart Foundation or Movember charity for men's mental health."
