Heartbroken family of missing dad thank public for helping with search after body found

A heartbroken family have issued a statement after a body was found in the search for a missing man from Kent.

Alex Holland, 27, was reported missing in November last year and police located a body on Thursday lunchtime (February 17).

The young man's loved ones had made multiple appeals for help to find him following his disappearance, KentLive reports.

An update on the Help Find Alex Holland page on Facebook said: "It was confirmed today that a body was found, and it was Alex.

"I want to thank everyone that shared the posts, it was really appreciated, but now we have to grieve and come to terms with what has happened, thank you all.

"Please allow us time to come to terms with this and allow us to grief together, thank you all so much."

Worried friends and relatives of Mr Holland had appealed for information, "big or small" that could help trace him.

Speaking in December, Bec Rose, who shares children with Alex, said she and their children were desperate to find him.

She said: "Alex, please, your babies are waiting for you.

"Christmas is coming and they need their daddy."

She added: "I just want him to know we have never felt pain like this, he means so much to us all."

Kent Police said: "Officers searching for a man reported missing from Deal have located a body.

"The body was found near Hacklinge shortly after 12.10pm on Thursday, February 17.

"Formal identification has not yet taken place, however, the family of a 27-year-old man from Deal, who was reported missing on Sunday 28 November 2021, have been informed."

The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
