An Edinburgh woman is desperately trying to raise funds in order to save the life of her best friend's dog.
Anna Coyle has now launched a fundraiser after two of her friend Glen's dogs were found to have the same life threatening condition.
According to Anna, Glen is well known around the Meadows, and is "often seen being pulled around the park on his skateboard" by his three gorgeous huskies.
A distinctive trio, Aurora, Aerial and Astrix are well-loved throughout the area, but have recently been hit with some serious health complications.
A couple of weeks ago, Aurora was rushed to the vets after an infection in her womb became life threatening, causing her to have emergency surgery during the night.
With veterinary bills already rising, Glen was then told one of his other dogs, Aeriel, is suffering from the same condition.
This has meant that Aeriel is now in desperate need of being spayed before she runs the risk of also needing emergency surgery.
However, the huge medical bills came at an awful time for Glen, who has been barely able to work since the beginning of the pandemic.
In a bid to try and help her friend take care of the dogs, Anna launched a Go Fund Me page to try and cover the costs of the £2000 bill.
Speaking about her fundraiser, she said:
"Glen is often helping others with their dogs, all his dogs are rescued, he has also worked for All Four Paws Charity. He's helped me numerous times with my dogs. It'd be great if we could give him a bit back."
So far, just over £1000 has been raised, which has allowed Glen to cover the cost of Aurora's surgery, however he is still unable to pay for Aerial to be spayed.
Anna added: "Glen's dogs are his life and it'd be awful if he had to choose any kind of sad alternative for Aeriel.
"I'd very much appreciate donations, no matter how small."
