Heartbroken East Lothian family offers £1k reward to bring home missing elderly dog 'no questions asked'

A heartbroken family has offered a £1,000 reward in a bid to bring their elderly dog home after she went missing last week.

The 15-year-old dog, named Bliss, who is "very" deaf and blind and has now been missing from East Lothian for nearly a week.

The much-loved golden cocker spaniel vanished from Innerwick Village, near Dunbar, at around 3pm last Saturday (16 January) and is yet to be found despite extensive searches in the area.

Family member Lauren Knaggs has issued a desperate appeal on social media, she explained that Bliss belonged to her gran who had led the dog out to the garden and returned to find she had gone.

It's thought Bliss may have escaped after a gate was accidentally left open, though the family said they can't rule out that she may have been stolen after seeing recent CCTV footage of dog thefts in nearby villages.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Lauren said: "We have had volunteers with drones, thermal imaging and sniffer dogs out searching over the past few days and we are extremely grateful for everyone searching and offering help, but still no sighting.

"I have put flyers through doors and a lovely lady made us posters which are around the village and surrounding villages."

The family is now offering a £1,000 reward for the safe return of Bliss, with "no questions asked".

"Bliss is very loved and has been my nan's best friend for years, we just want some closure", Lauren added.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Bliss are urged to phone the police on 101.
