Chloe Sims has reportedly given up on her “toxic” romance with Pete Wicks and cut him off for good after a bust up.
The 39-year-old reality star sparked suspicion her relationship with Pete was in trouble when she unfollowed him on Instagram last week.
But now it's claimed the TOWIE star has finally given up on their relationship after Pete confirmed that they had been “friends with benefits” and the revelation of their two-year secret romance played out on our screens.
New! magazine reports that the pair had been close and spending a lot of time together again recently and that Chloe had even told Pete, 32, she’s in love with him.
However, they claimed Pete scarpered when she poured her heart out to him and admitted she wanted them to be together properly and give their romance a proper go.
“Pete backed off, insisting that as much as he does love her, he just doesn’t want to be her boyfriend,” she insider reportedly told the publication.
“Chloe was really hurt and this was her breaking point. She decided she can’t keep him in her life and so she cut him out.
“She’s devastated because she put her cards on the table and allowed herself to be vulnerable, only to be rejected by him again. It hurts but she knows she can’t spend another Christmas feeling lonely and pining for him.”
The source claimed that Chloe had been hoping Pete would decide to settle down with her and finally be in a stable relationship, but that hasn’t been the case.
They allege Chloe has reacted emotionally to having her heart broken again by Pete.
“She knew it was a risk but deep down she hoped he’d realise over time how good they are together and change his mind,” the source added,
They went on to say that Pete is not looking to settle down any time soon while Chloe is looking for a stable relationship.
“They’re at different stages of their lives,” they added. “She’s finally realising she needs to accept that and move on. And she can’t move on with Pete in her life. It’s over for good.”
The on-off saga is likely to be one of the subjects up for discussion in upcoming TOWIE episodes.
Chloe was joined by her sisters Demi and Frankie for the Christmas special episodes, with the trio posing up for photos ahead of filming.
