A 24-year old woman from Kirkaldy has sadly passed away just hours after giving birth.
Her "devastated" fiancee Jordan Burt paid tribute to "beautiful" Shannon Napier who worked as an NHS nurse.
It is not yet confirmed why Shannon died, but it's believed she suffered complications giving birth.
In a heartbreaking post, Jordan Burt paid Tribute to his fiancee writing: "The 25th of April 2009 - I met my one and only true love, Shannon Napier, the most beautiful, intelligent and funny person I've ever met. It was love at first sight and we were just meant to be...
"We created dreams together; we achieved goals together and we were entering the next chapter of our lives.
"Today is our 11 year anniversary - you gave me the best possible present ever in our baby daughter.
"I'm just devastated that you can't be the mummy you've always wanted to be. I still can't believe you are gone, my wonderful fiancee."
The tribute continues: "I just want to thank you for everything you've done for me since you walked into my life; I wouldn't be where I am today without you.
"You've touched the lives of so many people, professionally and socially. You made me proud every single day: as the lyrics go, "you are the reason I breathe, you are the reason I still believe" - you are my amazing #NHSHero and I'll be giving you the biggest round of applause ever on Thursday night baby.
"The NHS has lost a terrific young nurse who was so caring and compassionate and was only at the beginning of your journey to the very top.
"You were one in a million Shannon Napier and I had the privilege to be yours for 11 years. All the pain is away now darling, daddy will make sure Abbie is safe and well, alongside the rest of the family!"
Jordan Burt works as a sports journalist and the young couple were looking forward to getting married and raising their daughter together.
Raith Rovers football team paid tribute to Jordan and Shannon saying: "The club were devastated to hear about the sad passing of young mother Shannon Napier yesterday, who died shortly after giving birth to her first daughter, Abbie.
"The Raith TV team, John McGlynn & Paul Smith, as well as the Rovers players and staff wish to express their sincere condolences to Jordan and the family of Shannon at this time of bereavement and loss."
A GoFundMe page set up to support the daughter and family of Shannon has raised almost £7,000 so far.
