Heartbreaking toll Covid pandemic has had on mental health revealed in Mirror survey

The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on life across the globe for the last 18 months.

In July, the Mirror asked readers to voice their experiences of employment, wellbeing, family life and more over the course of the crisis.

Over 6000 people responded to our poll, sharing the ways in which the pandemic has affected them over the last 18 months.

Today, we are sharing the ways in which the pandemic has affected readers' mental health.

Of those that took part, 46% claimed that they had felt more lonely since March 2020, while an equally striking 46% said that they had not. 8% were unsure.

Perhaps those who didn't experience loneliness were able to connect with those they lived with; only 23% of respondents spent the pandemic living alone, compared with 25% who lived with family and 48% who lived with a partner.

Nearly 58% of respondents indicated that they had felt more anxious as a result of the pandemic. 47% also felt more tired, and 42% had had more trouble sleeping than before the pandemic. Just 12% of people who responded indicated that they felt less stressed.

Lockdown has now eased, with life resembling more and more what we knew before the pandemic struck.

We want to know - how has this affected your mental health? Has the easing of lockdown been a relief, or has it caused you to worry?
