Heartbreaking news as Dublin GAA-mad fan sadly dies

Heartbreaking news emerging this week as a Dublin GAA-mad fan has sadly died with tributes pouring in.

Forever True Blue Nikki Murphy from Hartstown passed away on Tuesday after a battle with an illness.

The beautiful woman will be sadly missed by her partner Stewie as well as her many family and friends and the thousands that will have come across her on happy away days and glorious times in Croke Park.

A private funeral will take place for Nikki at St Ciaran's Church in Hartstown followed by burial in St Fintan's Cemetery in Sutton this Friday.

Tributes have been pouring in for Nikki who leaves behind an unforgettable presence.

One pal said: "Heartbreaking for her family and all that loved her. I love you and we will never forget you. I'm sure you'll be up there having a cold one - until we meet again."

Another said: "So sad, my thoughts and prayers are with her partner, family and friends at this sad time. Nikki you were such an inspiration to all, heaven has gained a beautiful angel, rest in peace."

A third said: "Oh my god, I followed Nikki’s story and I am shocked. Thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. May she rest in peace absolutely heartbreaking, so young."

Her funeral notice reads: "MURPHY Nikki (Nicola) (Hartstown, Dublin 15) September 1st, 2020 (peacefully) at Beaumont Hospital.

"Beloved partner of Stewie, daughter of Jo and Mick., sister of Paul, Michelle, Jacqi and Dani, aunty of Lauren, Joey and Rose and stepmom to Aaron and Eoin.

"Sadly missed by her loving partner, family, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

"Those who would have liked to attend the funeral; but due to current restrictions cannot, please leave your personal message by selecting 'condolences' below or alternatively leaving a message at www.cunninghamsfunerals.com.

"Family flowers only please and donations, if desired, to Irish Cancer Society."
