A heart-wrenching video captures the excitement of an 18-year-old just hours before he plunged to his death when his parachute failed to open.
Tyler Turner, who had cerebral palsy, tragically died along with his instructor during his very first skydiving jump in Lodi, California in the US, in August 2018.
He was there to celebrate the 18th birthday of a friend, but what was supposed to be a memorable day turned out to be a tragedy for his parents and loved ones.
Footage shows him standing on a runway at the Skydive Lodi Parachute Center, fully geared-up and beaming with excitement ahead of an extreme adventure that would spell the end of his life.
"I am gonna jump out of a plane. First time indeed – little bit scary," Tyler can be heard saying.
"When I get up there, it’s going to be like 'oh gosh', adrenaline is going to kick in and I’m just gonna let it happen."
He then turned to his beloved mother Francine Turner, and said: "That’s my mum over there. Hello there, very loving mum.
"Has done a lot for me in my life, hopefully she’ll help me with more in my life because I want to make it."
The video then cuts to the mum, who can be seen sending Tyle a kiss as she tells her son: "Have fun".
His mum told US news outlet Fox40 : “What an amazing person he was.
"He was loved by everyone."
While his dad Todd said: "He was a great boy, from early on we never needed to discipline him. He was a wonderful child.
"He had CP (cerebral palsy) but it didn’t stop him from playing in any sport.”
