Heartbreaking message as popular children's play centre closes for good

A popular play centre has confirmed it is closing in a heartbreaking message to customers.

Monkey Village Indoor Play Centre and Cafe, located in Station Street in Kirkby in Ashfield, closed its doors for the final time on December 1.

The party venue said in a message on its social media that it had been a "long journey" and thanked customers for the memories while it was open.

In a statement on its Facebook page, a Monkey Village spokesperson wrote: "I am sorry to announce the permanent closure of the Monkey village play centre from 1st December. It’s been a long journey and I’m so glad to have had all you lovely customers along with me.

"It’s been amazing watching the little ones growing up and being their favourite place to come. Now it’s time to say goodbye. Thank you for all the memories, I will treasure them forever.

"P.S. You will be contacted for refunds if you have booked a party."

Customers expressed their shock and sadness at the news, as well as sharing their experiences from the years the play centre operated.

One wrote: "Thanks so much for the all memories! My kids have spent some very happy hours in this place over the years!"

"Such sad news," another said.

"We have been coming for years. You will be missed."

One person commented: "Oh I am so sorry, my son will be very sad. We've had lots of happy times at the play centre."
