Heartbreaking last Instagram posts of stewardess who died after plane landed at Stansted

An air stewardess who died after landing at Stansted Airport posted on social media before her sudden death that she "loved her job".

Greta Dyrmishi, 24, had been working for airline Air Albania when she fainted and died in December, just days before Christmas.

Ms Dyrmishi posted regularly about her jet-setting job, often uploading photos and videos of the various destinations she travelled to.

One post shows an aerial view of city lights at night. "That's why I love my job," she wrote.

Another post revealed the stewardess had recently travelled to Bari, Italy, while a separate image showed her living room adorned with Christmas presents.

Her final post, uploaded to her Instagram account just days before she died, included an image from a plane window, with a view out over the buildings and countryside below.

Essex Coroners Court heard on Wednesday that Ms Dyrmishi was travelling from the Albanian capital, Tirana, to Essex on December 21 when she suddenly fainted.

After fainting by the front of the plane she was given CPR and first aid, but sadly died.

The East of England Ambulance Service Trust said two ambulances, a hazardous area response team vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance responded to reports of a woman being seriously ill.

A post-mortem found her cause of death to be sudden adult death syndrome.

Area coroner for Essex, Michelle Brown, said Ms Dyrmishi's death would be subject to a full documentary inquest.

Coroner Brown said: "This 24-year-old female was cabin crew on a flight from Albania and was on the tarmac when she appeared to faint and was given basic first aid.

"Ten minutes later there was no pulse and CPR commenced. Paramedics treated her and confirmed she had passed away. A post-mortem found her cause of death to be sudden adult death syndrome."

She added that at the time of the incident "she was at the front by the doors on a plane at Stansted Airport", which was "suitable for a documentary inquest in due course".

A statement issued by Air Albania at the time of Ms Dyrmishi's death said: "On December 21, after disembarking the passengers from our flight to London, one of our cabin crew Greta Dyrmishi had a heart attack. Even after all medical assistance was provided immediately, we still lost her.

"She was taken to the hospital in London, and procedures are being followed. From the first moments, Air Albania contacted her family, and we continue to be close to them in these difficult moments.

"In respect to Greta and her family, we decided to share the news with the public at the appropriate time. We will always remember Greta as a passionate professional, an excellent coworker, and a great friend to all of us.

"May God mercy her and give peace to the family. Air Albania will continue to be with her family."
