Heartbreaking family tribute to Bristol man killed in crash near M5

The family of a Bristol man who died in a crash in Easton-in-Gordano have released a tribute to him.

Simon Gregory, 43, was killed in a crash on the A369, near junction 19 of the M5 for Portishead.

The incident happened at around 10pm on September 4, with the road closed in both directions for six hours.

Now his family have released a touching tribute to him.

'A hole in our hearts'

They said: "No words can express how devastated we are by the loss of Simon, a wonderful son, brother and uncle.

"His death has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled; he was loving and caring, never having a bad word to say about anyone and a true friend to everyone that knew him.

"We are struggling to cope at this sad time and we would ask kindly that our privacy is respected whilst we come to terms with our loss.”

Avon and Somerset Constabulary are appealing for witnesses of the crash to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: "The collision, which happened at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, September 4, involved a Ford Fiesta and a cyclist.

"The cyclist, a 43-year-old man from Bristol, sadly died as a result of his injuries.

"If you saw any part of this collision, or have any information which could help us, please call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 and give the call handler the reference number CI/121/19."
