Heartbreaking daughters' tributes to Rangers fan Stephen McPhail after his tragic death

The daughters of tragic Rangers fan Stephen McPhail have posted heartbreaking tributes after a body was found in the search for the missing dad.

Stephen, 43, went missing from his home in Drumchapel on June 15. He was last seen walking on Great Western Road towards Dumbarton .

Police say formal identification is yet to take place on a body found in the rural Loch Humphrey area of West Dunbartonshire , but Stephen’s family has been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Stephen’s distraught daughters Taylor, Chelsea and Morgan issued appeals for information when their dad went missing.

Today, Taylor shared a photo on Facebook of the pair with the message: “I love you more than you will ever know.”

It was followed by a broken heart emoji and blue heart emoji.

Chelsea posted a photo of herself with Stephen, writing: “Love you forever” with a blue heart emoji.

Morgan's profile photo also shows her with her dad.

Many flocked to the comments of both posts to pay their respects and show solidarity for the shattered family.

Stephen’s sister Kerry Prior wrote: “My heart’s broken. Sending you big hugs & lots of love. Xxxx”

Lesley Murray wrote: “So sorry to hear this news girls my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this terrible time.”

Morgan Halfpenny wrote: “Thinking of you all. I hope the strength of what an amazing man your dad was can get you all through this terrible time. Sending lots of love.”

Brenda McFadyen sa id: “So so sorry in seeing this today. My thoughts to you girls and your mum.”

A police spokesperson said: " Police Scotland can confirm around 2:35 pm on Tuesday, June18, 2019, the body of a man was found in woodland near to Loch Humphrey, West Dunbartonshire.

"A formal identification has still to take place however officers believe the man to be 43 year old Stephen McPhail, who was last seen walking on Great Western Road towards Dumbarton, on Saturday 15 June 2019.

"His family has been informed and a report will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.

"There are no suspicious circumstances around the death."
