'Heartbreaking' - Charlton Athletic fans react to explosive interview from Bristol City and Nottingham Forest target

Charlton Athletic fans have hit out at their club hierarchy following an explosive interview from striker Lyle Taylor.

The Addicks' ownership hierarchy are in a very public civil war over the club, with Taylor alleging that chairman Matt Southall offered him a derisory contract that led to fans criticising the striker when it was rejected.

With Taylor's deal expiring in the summer, there is plenty of interest in his services, with both Bristol City and Nottingham Forest said to be interested.

For Charlton fans, it was another example of how the club's ownership dispute is costing them.

Sam: Listening to Lyle Taylor's interview is heartbreaking.

Neil: What have the idiots got to say about Lyle Taylor now then? Plenty were happy to see him leave over the Brentford transfer and after he rejected a contract.

Stephen: Love how passionately Lyle Taylor talks about our football club.

Sam: Very interesting listen. Any Charlton fan needs to give it a watch. For all the stick Lyle has been given over the last year by some fans, this really drives home how unjust that was.

Danny: Great insight there. Feel for Lyle Taylor who is a top fella and has been absolutely top drawer for Charlton throughout his time. Would love to think there's still a glimmer a white knight can ride in, save the club and give him what he deserves.

James: Fantastic insight. Thanks to Lyle Taylor for being honest and saying it how it is. Your fears for our future are held by every supporter at Charlton. You and the lads have given so much on that pitch in the last few years and we are truly grateful.

Sam: No blame on him whatsoever, mad what our club has become.

ChipStar: Not all fans turned against you Lyle. Total respect and good luck to you, whatever you decide to do in the future.

Kevin: Few fans might owe Lyle Taylor an apology.
