Heartbroken relatives gathered in grief outside a bed and breakfast on Thursday morning where the body of a young woman was discovered.
Gardai attended the scene at The Townhouse on Lower Gardiner Street in Dublin's north inner city where tearful mourners consoled each other following the tragic discovery.
The body of the woman, who was in her early 30s, was removed from the building shortly after 1.30pm.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the discovery of a body of a woman at a premises on Gardiner Street, Dublin 1 at approximately 1:30pm on Thursday.
"The body has been removed to the Dublin city morgue where a post mortem will take place."
Results of the post mortem will determine the course of the investigation, Gardai said.
