Heart-warming Edinburgh note with tips for winter weather left at Leith bus stop

A considerate Edinburgh local has left a note with some tips on making it through winter at a Leith bus stop.

The message starts of with "Hello friends... here are some good free winter tips" and goes on to give some weird and wonderful dietary pointers to survive the cold weather that will hit the capital in the coming weeks.

The poster was left at a shelter just beyond Great Junction Street heading towards Ocean Terminal and was discovered by a passer-by on Friday afternoon.

First on the list of tips on the ominous poster is "buy garlic." It goes on the explain: "It is good for you especially if you eat 2/3 raw gloves a day."

Perhaps a tip that not many of us are aware off, garlic has been proven to warn off infections such as the flu, common colds and contains immune system-boosting effects.

The note then says: "Take vitamin D! it is called the sunshine vitamin and it is good for you, especially in the winter." This is another fact as during the pandemic, vitamin D has been a popular supplement for people to make up for the lack of sunshine and also possibly preventing Covid-19.

Last, but not least, the note tells people to "eat fish at least three times a week as it is filled with good omegas."

It's well known that fish is one of the healthiest dinner time meals and contains all the nutrients needed for a healthy diet, during the winter though, it may not be one of our go-to options.

The note is signed off with a "stay nice and warm" message, just to remind people of the most important element of winter.

It's unclear if there are more of these notes pinned up across Leith, but one person has certainly done their best to ensure people look after themselves during the coldest month of the year.
