Heart-stopping moment dad spotted pushing toddler on balcony swing 80ft off ground

A man who was spotted pushing a child on a swing nearly 80ft off the ground from an apartment balcony has been slammed online.

A heart-stopping 12-second clip shows the man, reportedly the little girl's dad, repeatedly pushing her high into the air from the eighth floor despite no apparent safety equipment.

Jonathan Padilla, a journalist for the Mexican Herald, captured the video in Puerto Rico, with users condemning the man's irresponsible behaviour.

After sharing the clip on Saturday, Mr Padilla, said: "A man swung his underage daughter on the balcony of his apartment during this  coronavirus  quarantine."

The girl is seen swinging high into the air during the clip, just inches from the balcony edge

The video was then widely shared on  Reddit  where viewers couldn't believe their eyes.

One said: "Just because you cannot go to the park does not mean you can risk your child's life."

A second one commented: "Just watching this gives me that dropping feeling in my stomach like when going down a hill on a roller coaster."

Some concerned viewers said the child could easily have slipped off the swing and fallen off the building while others suggested the dad could have installed the swing inside the flat.

"They have swings that go on door jams and that you can mount in the door frame. This is an unnecessary risk," one worried viewer wrote.

Another one suggested: "All you need is an over the door pull up bar, and this swing could be inside the apartment."
