Heart-breaking search for family of Irish man who died alone in London

A search is on to find the family of an Irishman who died alone in London this week.

Cornelius Cremin originally from Cork and often known as Con, had been living in the Wood Green area of North London for the past 25 years or more before his recent death.

It's believed the 72-year-old man has children who are living in Ireland, with there now being a race against time to contact them before Con is cremated, CorkBeo reports

In a post to the Irish in London Facebook page, it's detailed that Con was born on April 28th, 1948 in the Buttevant/Mallow area.

"Unfortunately no next of kin has been found," the post reads. "He was well known around Wood Green but no family can be traced."

The man who created the post and is now desperately trying to late Con's family, added that the late Corkman "was always smartly dressed and he usually had a hat on".

He added that Con owned several dogs throughout the years and enjoyed taking them for walks.

"He was married years ago but his wife has since passed away," the post reads.

"I have been told he has a son and daughter that may have moved back to Ireland."

The man has tried to get the help of local Gardai in Cork, but was told that more information is needed.

Con is set to be cremated on the 8th of July at 9.30am in Islington Crematorium.
