Hearing on Vivendi petition against Mediaset set for Aug 29: source

MILAN (Reuters) - A court hearing on a petition filed by France's Vivendi <VIV.PA> against Mediaset <MS.MI> to preserve its right to vote against the Italian broadcaster's plan to create a pan-European media business is set for August 29, a source said on Tuesday.

The plan will be put to a vote at a shareholder meeting on September 4.
