Hear the moment The Killers and Pet Shop Boys namecheck Newcastle at Glastonbury

Glastonbury is an event where pretty anything can, and probably will happen, and The Killers headline set on Saturday proved a particularly memorable one for Newcastle.

And not just because the American band brought out Pet Shop Boys, of course featuring North Shields singer Neil Tennant, as special guests, but Newcastle also got namechecked during a duet of hit single Human.

The Killers' headline set came on a very hectic and very eclectic day for Glastonbury , which also featured performances from country star Carrie Underwood, Oasis legend , The Chemical Brothers, Janet Jackson and Johnny Marr, who also joined Brandon Flowers and co on stage for This Charming Man.

And while the jury is definitely still out on Janet's set, with loads of varying opinions being aired on Twitter, plenty of people flooded social media with praise for The Killers, with their stint on stage also featuring When You Were Young, Somebody Told Me and of course Mr Brightside.

But the epic moment for all the Geordies out there came when The Killers and Pet Shop Boys launched into Human, after a duet on PSB's own huge hit Always On My Mind.

In a slight change of lyrics, frontman Brandon Flowers sang "when you dream of Newcastle tonight," rather than "when you dream of home tonight," and, standing next to him, Neil Tennant's face said it all as he smiled from ear to ear...much like all the Geordies watching at home we're sure!
