A transparent violin made of plastic via a 3-D printer was revealed to the public at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition complex in Koto Ward, Tokyo.
The display was part of the TCT Japan 2020 exhibition at the venue, which runs until Friday.
The instrument, which can be played, was manufactured by Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Institute using a 3-D printer and highly advanced coating technology.
This is the first time the institute has produced a transparent violin, although it has been making plastic violins with a 3-D printer for about two years.
