Hear spooky tales from the sea at special Halloween event in Edinburgh

A special Halloween storytelling event will have brave souls hear some of the spookiest tales from the sea.

Trinity House in Leith is hosting a Halloween Tales event which includes a tour of their underground vaults, which date back to the 1500s.

The building was set up to support sailors and their families and was an important institution for Edinburgh's ports for centuries.

Children and adults can learn about ancient seafaring superstitions, ghost ships and haunted U-boats.

It's taking place on Wednesday and Thursday next wee. Visitors will take a tour of Trinity House itself before going underground.

Historic Environment Scotland say: "Our resident storyteller will share with you tales of mysterious ships haunted U-boats, strange superstitions, hangings, vanishings and storm creating witches.

"This unique experience includes a twilight tour of Trinity House and the lantern lit sixteenth century vaults."
