Hear chilling 999 call Denis Beytula made after stabbing his three-week-old baby to death

Calm, composed and without a hint of emotion in his voice Denis Beytula dialled 999 to tell police he had stabbed his partner and baby.

The 27-year-old was today jailed for life with a minimum of 23 years after pleading guilty to murdering his three-week-old baby boy and attempting to murder his partner.

The twisted new dad attacked 21-year-old Andreea and her newborn son Andrei at the flat they all shared in Wallsend.

As they lay horrifically injured he dialled 999 and told police what he had done.

Audio of the chilling call has today been released by Northumbria Police.

And disturbingly Beytula's lack of remorse or regret is clearly evident in his voice.

He says: "I just killed my baby and my wife."

When the shocked call handler asks him to repeat what he said, Beytula continues in the same manner and tells police his address.

Emergency services were dispatched to the flat, on Portland Close immediately, where they found Andreea and Andrei seriously injured inside.

Beytula's arrest was captured on police officers' body-worn cameras.

As cops arrive at the scene Beytula, who has blood on his hands, calmly directs officers to the flat.

And when one asks why he has blood on him, he replies in a matter-of-fact voice: "I killed them."

When police ask him if he is armed he says: "There is only the knife in there,'" pointing to the flat again.

And when asked if his partner is still alive he takes on a dismissive tone to say: "I don't know."

Det Insp Graeme Dodds, of Northumbria Police, has condemned Beytula for not calling an ambulance after stabbing Andreea and Andrei.

He said: "He presented himself to officers very calmly, with no remorse and no real concern for what he had done," said Det Insp Dodds.

"Instead of ringing for an ambulance he just rang the police and left them in there to die."

"He offered no reply throughout his interview and he's shown no remorse since."
