Police seized a "heap of junk" home made go-kart being drive round a residential area during the coronavirus lockdown.
Officers in Haydock were less than impressed to find the cart in a residential area at a time when non-essential travel has been banned by the government to slow the spread of the disease.
The rudimentary home made kart consisted of a metal frame, plastic seat, steering wheel and exposed engine, and had no number plate or brake lights.
Posting on the St Helens Police Facebook page, the force said: "This heap of junk was seized by officers earlier this evening in Haydock after being driven on a road.
"The driver has now been reported for summons for driving without a licence, driving without insurance and also a breach of the health protection regulation (COVID 19).
"I am sure you will agree, driving a homemade Go Kart around a residential area is not an essential journey."
The driver will be expected to attend Liverpool Magistrates' Court in the near future.
