A heartbroken fiancee has paid tribute to a 'healthy' pizza hut delivery driver who died after contracting coronavirus.
Mark Lynn, 35, passed away in the Intensive Care Unit of Wythenshawe Hospital, after spending almost a month in hospital.
The dad-of-four, from Liverpool, began to develop mild coronavirus symptoms at the end of March, including a fever and cough, the Liverpool Echo reprots.
A few days later, Mark suffered breathing difficulties and collapsed.
He was taken to Aintree Hospital by ambulance three days later where his condition deteriorated and he was placed into intensive care on a ventilator.
Mark, who worked part time as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut, had been engaged to partner of 13 years, Danielle Stone.
He leaves behind four children - Ashleigh, 11, Connor, 10, nine-year-old Thomas and Ivy-Rose, who is one and a half.
Following Mark's tragic death, the pizza hut where he worked was closed, with deep cleaning taking place and exposed staff in self-isolation.
Danielle said he suffered from asthma but besides that he was 'healthy' before he contracted the virus.
Danielle told the Liverpool Echo: "He was in hospital for almost a month when he passed away. I managed to see him a few days before he died at Wythenshawe hospital along with some of his family.
"It's absolutely heartbreaking for him to die at such a young age. He had his whole life ahead of him. It just breaks my heart that this has happened.
"A lot of people knew Mark. He was very popular. He was the sort of person who would do anything for anyone.
"He loved camping and fishing. He was a lovely lad and he had no faults.
"He was such a kind person and was a brilliant father to the kids."
Danielle said the current social distancing measures had made it particularly difficult to grieve for Mark because she was unable to be with family members at this difficult time.
She added: "It's really difficult not being able to see the family during lockdown when he was ill and especially now.
"I want people to know how loving and caring and thoughtful he was and how much everyone cared about him.
"He had a lot of spirit and he was loved by a lot of people."
Mark was described as a much loved "partner, dad, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend."
In a statement a Pizza Hut spokesperson said: "It is with deep sadness that Pizza Hut can confirm the death of one of our team members.
"Our thoughts are with their family and loved ones at this difficult time. We are in close contact with his family to ensure they have the support they need and are also supporting team members with counselling and resources if they wish.
"The health and wellbeing of our team members remains our top priority. We have introduced enhanced safety measures to protect our staff and customers and we are following all Government guidelines.
"This includes self-isolation for 14 days for those who may have been exposed to Covid-19. Following a deep clean, we will re-open the Hut on 28 th April, with non-exposed Team Members.
"We are incredibly proud of our team members who are working so hard during this time."
