Healthy crowd backs Nottingham Forest Ladies as they are denied by late Derby County goal

Nottingham Forest Ladies were denied the bragging rights in their clash with rivals Derby County thanks to a last minute goal on Sunday.

The Reds were leading at Eastwood FC, until a late strike from the visitors ensured it finished 1-1.

A healthy crowd of 1,252 were on hand to watch the third tier game. Forest took an early lead through Helena Constantinou, who scored directly from a corner when the Derby keeper let the ball slip through her fingers in the eighth minute.

Forest had the best of the game, but Derby levelled in the last minute through Stephanie Smith with a curling effort.

The Rams almost won it deep into stoppage time, but keeper Aja Aguirre pushed a Jodie Redgrave shot onto the crossbar.

Former Reds midfielder Guy Moussi was among those watching on, while another ex-player in Andy Reid tweeted his delight at the attendance.
