Primary healthcare staff and patients across Trafford are celebrating a busy few weeks administering COVID-19 vaccines.
Sale Primary Care Network thanked its staff for working hard throughout the pandemic, particularly for their efforts distributing jabs in the last few weeks.
The team managed to vaccinate 800 people in one day alone.
In a tweet, a spokesperson for the network said: “Fantastic team effort from everyone as we vaccinated over 800 people in an attempt to protect our local community from COVID-19. Thank you to everyone involved. Stay safe.”
And Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group staff began administering vaccines to care home residents at Bowfell House in Urmston this week too.
Urmston resident Matt Callaghan tweeted: “Thanks to the team from Trafford CCG who gave out the first dose of the vaccine yesterday to the residents of Bowfell House. If we all continue to follow the rules we can beat this!”

Staff at Sale’s LifeCentre are also celebrating a busy few days.
Their team tweeted: “We’ve had two more busy days with the COVID vaccinations! Great team effort from all of the local doctors’ surgeries and LifeCentre staff.
“Thank you for all your help and support to protect our community. As soon as we can get some more vaccine supply, there will be many more vaccination sessions to come!”

One Sale resident replied: “Thanks for looking after my mum on Friday. Singing your praises to me!”
And patients and their families are incredibly grateful to the care staff for their kindness and good sense of humour.
A Stretford resident tweeted: “My mum was vaccinated today. I didn’t think I could love this more, until she showed me the sticker she got from the doctor. Thank you to the brilliant Trafford CCG Delamere team – this bit of humour and kindness has made our day. So grateful for everything you are doing.”

The photo she shared with the tweet featured a sticker saying ‘I was brave for the doctor.’
The Altrincham Healthcare Alliance PCN has been working hard as well.
Their team tweeted: “Top teamwork: 500+ vaccinated today including 92-year-old birthday girl, Mrs Wise, plus an ex-panto dame and patients at care home @SunriseSrLiving. Fantastic.”

And after some frustration that they had only received 300 vaccines for this week, one GP practice part of the alliance, St John’s Medical Practice, was told a further delivery of 1,300 doses is winging its way to them this week.
Age UK Trafford is also lending a helping hand.
Their team tweeted: “During the Christmas period Age UK Trafford supported the South GP Network by booking 370 older people in for their first COVID vaccine. Completed in three days!”
And the British Red Cross are also helping too. One of their staff tweeted: “Delighted The British Red Cross, North continues to support our Trafford CCG colleagues with COVID-19 vaccines – the team welcome has been amazing and we are proud to support them.”

The Trafford Partnership has set up a COVID vaccinations hotline. The hotline will be monitored by NHS Trafford CCG colleagues who will aim to answer all enquiries within 24 hours.
The hotline can be reached by calling 0161 912 1299. You can also email any questions related to the rescheduling of vaccinations to trccg.covidvacs@nhs.net.
