Health Secretary Matt Hancock is to make a coronavirus announcement on Monday afternoon, speaking live from Downing Street.
Mr Hancock will speak as the Government comes under increased pressure to say when schools will reopen in England.
The Government this weekend extended rules which would allow local authorities to keep pubs and restaurants closed until this summer.
New rules are expected to be discussed on Tuesday which could see anyone arriving in the UK having to stay in a quarantine hotel for 10 days.
The Health Secretary is likely to speak at 5pm as pressure mounts on the government over borders and schools, reports The Mirror.
The government has not confirmed whether Mr Hancock will be making any new announcement.
During England's national lockdown, No10 is aiming to hold around three press conferences a week - down from seven in the first lockdown last Spring.
Mr Hancock suggested on Sunday any relaxation was a “long, long way” off.
