Headingley store closed due to flooding

A busy store in Headingley was forced to close today due to flooding.

Customers were told to leave Wilko in Otley Road on Sunday, April 7 when a pipe burst and water began pouring out in the store.

Members of staff were seen leaving in soaking wet clothes.

A company spokeswoman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by our Headingley store being temporarily closed today, 7 April 2019.

"This is due to a burst water pipe that we are working hard to fix as quickly as we can."

It is not yet clear when the homewares and household goods store will reopen.
