Head coach Ian Burchnall names Notts County team for Stockport showdown

Ian Burchnall made three changes to his Notts County team to face Stockport this afternoon as the Magpies welcome their promotion rivals to Meadow Lane.

Fresh from a thumping 4-0 win over Tamworth in the FA Cup in midweek, Burchnall took the decision to recall Matty Palmer, Kyle Cameron and Jim O'Brien to his starting line-up.

Missing out was striker Kairo Mitchell, who scored two goals in midweek, while Adam Chicksen and Ed Francis also missed out after starting against the Lambs in midweek.

Despite those changes, Notts stuck to a 3-5-2 formation with Anthony Patterson behind the back three of Richard Brindley, Connell Rawlinson and Cameron.

Dion Kelly-Evans and Joel Taylor were handed wing-back responsibilities while Palmer, Francis and Frank Vincent were in the centre of midfield.

Up front, Ruben Rodrigues who has scored six goals this season, partnered Kyle Wootton.

Notts were also boosted by the return of winger Callum Roberts who was fit enough to take his place on the bench having missed Tuesday's game due to a tight hamstring.
