'He will outscore Haaland' - Arsenal faithful ecstatic as Gabriel Jesus nets first Gunners goals

Arsenal fans were pleased to see Gabriel Jesus score his first brace in red and white as the Gunners beat Nurnberg 5-3 on Friday evening.

The north Londoners officially unveiled the Brazilian international as their fourth signing of the summer earlier in the week - following deals for fellow countryman Marquinhos, Portugal Under-21 star Fabio Vieira and American goalkeeper Matt Turner.

Following the announcement, the club released an interview containing Jesus' first words as a Gunner, where he revealed that he's excited to work with Mikel Arteta again after the Spaniard coached him at City.

Giving an insight into the pair’s recent discussions, he said: “We spoke a couple of times about the club, the players, the project and the future. I believe 100 per cent in Mikel. I had a very good time with him before, he’s a very good guy and a very good coach as well.

“He helped me a lot [at Manchester City]. We would always stick together after the training sessions and do some finishing or something. He’s a very intelligent guy and was an amazing player, so if he knows something he can teach me or the young players.”

And he's off to the perfect start as he scored a brace against Nurnberg on Friday.

Arteta would've been pleased to see how well he linked up with Eddie Nketiah to find the net for his first goal too. Coming off a neat bit of play on the right, Jesus directed a pass towards Nketiah in the penalty area. The Englishman then laid the ball off for Jesus to score at the near post.

His second goal came after a lovely through ball from Gabriel Martinelli. Jesus darted across his man before flicking home from close range.

Supporters were also ecstatic to see the Brazilian find such great form so early on in his Gunners career. Take a look at what's been said on Twitter below.
