'He was loved very much' wife's tribute to husband killed in car crash in Barry

Tributes have been paid to a " a great husband, father, grandfather and friend", who died in a crash in Barry.

David Searle, 74, also known as Dai, was involved in a single vehicle crash on Tuesday November 9 in Cardiff Road, Barry.

The A4055 Cardiff Road was closed in both directions between the Barry Docks turn-off and the McDonald's on the A4231 shortly before midday and was closed for several hours.

Mr Searle, from Barry, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, where he sadly died.

Mr Searle's family has now paid tribute to him, saying he was " a great husband, father, grandfather and friend".

They said: “He passed away very unexpectedly. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend.

“He had a great sense of humour and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.”

His wife Yvonne added: "He was loved very much and I will miss him until the day we meet again.”

South Wales Police are now appealing for anybody who witnessed the collision, or has any dash cam footage, to contact them quoting occurrence 2100393475.
