'He wants to move on' - Premier League side take son of Nottingham Forest hero on trial

The son of former Nottingham Forest star Lars Bohinen is having a trial with Premier League side Sheffield United.

Emil Bohinen currently plays for Eliteserien side Stabaek in his native Norway.

It seems the 20-year-old midfielder has been catching the eye in his breakthrough season - and could be set to follow in his father's footsteps by moving to England.

Bohinen senior, 50, who also played for Derby County and Blackburn Rovers, told The Athletic: “He’s actually training with Sheffield United - he is going to be there until Friday.

“I know there has been a Belgian club interested and a couple of Norwegian clubs as well.

“He is not a big boy, quite thin. He moves well, is quick on the ball, has a good understanding of the game.

"He has a good left foot, his passing range is good.

“He can also drive past people with the ball at his feet. Defensively he has improved a lot over the last 12 months, which has been maybe the most important part of his game to develop.

“His contract expires in a year. I think in the January window probably something will happen. It’s no disaster if it doesn’t happen but he wants to move on.

“His development has been so good in the past year that he wants that to continue. He needs a little bit more of a challenge.”
