‘He surely has to go’ - Arsenal fans send Edu transfer message after what wantaway forward did

Arsenal fans have demanded for Edu to let young striker Folarin Balogun be sent out on-loan after another stunning performance for the Under-23s.

The academy graduate is currently in the midst of a stunning season for the Gunners academy set-up.

Heading into Friday evening’s clash with Derby County, Balogun had netted 12 goals in just 10 appearances in all competitions for the Under-23s. He continued that hot form with a stunning hat-trick against the Rams, despite the Gunners having lost 5-3.

His final goal in particular caught the eye as it was a brilliant right-footed effort that curled into the top corner.

The treble takes his record to a frankly astounding 15 goals in just 11 appearances for the Gunners’ youth side.

Despite that run of form, Balogun has not been rewarded with many chances for the first team, having been handed just three appearances by Mikel Arteta throughout the current campaign.

Following his hat-trick, supporters have called for him to be sent out on-loan in order to earn some experience of senior football.

Here are just some of their responses from social media on Friday evening.

Balogun has previously admitted that should he not be afforded more outings for the Arsenal first-team in the future, he may be forced to look elsewhere for football.

Talking earlier this month, the 20-year-old said: “I feel like I have played youth football for a while. I have scored goals at that level and improved at that level drastically compared to now. At the same time I am not sure what that challenge might be.

“It might be a loan, or if I am needed at Arsenal I am here and the gaffer knows that as well.

“I feel like I am definitely open to a new challenge, wherever it is I will be ready.
