'He should force a move, it's a no-brainer' - The Aston Villa view on Bristol City's Adam Webster

Aston Villa are said to be upping their interest in Bristol City's Adam Webster.

The Robins have already knocked back one bid for the defender from the newly-promoted club, but Villa are set to come back in for a second offer.

City's asking price is believed to be at £30m, and Villa fans have had their say on the rumours.

Adam Webster of Bristol City is challenged by Yakou Meite of Reading (Rogan/JMP)

Rob: I can't see where this Webster interest has come from. Is he actually that good? He didn't play that well at Villa Park last season in my opinion, started off as centre back and then moved into . I don't see him play week in, week out so hopefully he just had a below average game.

Football Index Trader: £20m for Adam Webster? You can keep him boys, if we won’t pay £15m for Mings, sure as hell aren’t paying that kind of money.

JB: Would be very suprised if Webster doesn’t try and force a move, its a no-brainer if a Premier League are in for you.

Johno: Surely if we're that keen on Webster, we could chuck a player in the deal. Hogan makes perfect sense, but I'm guessing we've made things difficult with the crazy wages we paid players a couple of years back. Other Championship teams can't/won't match them.

Vijay Daryanani:  The problem is that everyone knows we’re loaded! I expect us to make some late signings, not good but we can’t be ripped off.

Nick Cannon:  Everyone is taking the mick because we are loaded but at some point we will need to start paying over the odds if we want a proper sized squad.

Chris Davies:  Crazy valuations on players not even Premier League proven

Michael Knott:  Weren't Bristol City one of the club's whinging about Villa not obeying FFP? So as revenge they think can screw silly money out of us.  The £12mll is closer the true value.

Paul Russon:  Just forget Bristol City trying to screw us because they think we have money to burn, move on.
