'He's trolling us' - These Arsenal fans can't believe what Shkodran Mustafi has done

There was naturally an air of despondency around Arsenal after Monday night.

The Gunners could have gone back up to third in the Premier League table, but slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of newly-promoted Sheffield United in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

It was a disappointing night, highlighted by the Gunners managing just one shot on target from inside the box.

And there were obviously no smiles from any of the players after the match had finished, or on social media the next day.

Apart from one that is - Shkodran Mustafi.

While all the other Arsenal players were down in the dumps about the result against the Blades, Mustafi, left out of the squad again by Unai Emery, was enjoying time with his daughter.

And it led a number of Arsenal fans to suggest "he's trolling us".

The Instagram post from Mustafi, which was a picture of himself and his daughter looking up to the sky, said: "When you finally see the sun is out."

And Reddit user u/ahag6818 posted that alongside two other Arsenal players' Instagram messages - Dani Ceballos and Calum Chambers.

Ceballos said: "Yesterday was not the day, but the show must go on and we have to put our mind on Thursday."

Meanwhile, Chambers said: "Tough one to take last night. Important we learn from it and put things right in the next game."

Reddit user AirportAtheist said: "LOL he's trolling us," while Igorlol said: "Mustafi is becoming way more likeable when he is not playing."

SalporinRC said: "Props to Mustafi for the banter," with AFC-93 suggesting he should play.

"Never thought I'd rather have Mustafi over Sokratis," the user said, which brought plenty of responses, with seleryAFC saying: "Sokratis has been poor for months now," and Microdesmidman saying: "Musti has been clean in his performances this season, I think he needs to be getting more time."
