'He's top of our list!' Leeds United owner Radrizzani goes public on chase for Man Utd star Daniel James but reveals problem

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has admitted that Daniel James is at the top of their transfer wishlisht - but has seemingly played down the chances of a deal being done in this window.

The Wales winger started 35 games for United last season, but has seemingly fallen out of favour under boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a situation that has fuelled speculation linking him with a move to Elland Road.

Reports on Saturday morning suggested Leeds were preparing a £25m bid for the winger, although sources close to the player have told WalesOnline there is no sign of an incoming bid at this stage.

A loan departure is also understood to be off the table completely.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was believed to be prepared to sell James in order to fund a big money bid for long-term target Jadon Sancho, although the United board were, in contrast, allegedly reluctant to let go of the 22-year old.

Should United decide to sell the Welshman, there is certain to be interest from across the Penines, with Radrizzani confirming that James is their top transfer target.

However, he has seemingly played down the possibility of bringing him on board before the close of the window.

“Dan [James] is on top of our list but it seems he will be staying at Man Utd," the Leeds owner told Stretty News.

“There is nothing.”
