'He's seen it all before' says woman whose midwife was her ex-boyfriend

A mum-to-be was shocked when she was rushed to the hospital to give birth - and her midwife turned out to be her ex-boyfriend.

Tarsha, 28, was expecting her first child in 2015 and while she knew her ex, Tim, was a nurse at her local hospital, she never imagined that she would end up as one of his patients.

But when she was in the ward, as she's getting ready to push, her midwife said that she would soon be finishing her shift and another midwife would be taking over.

Then, as if out of a dream, Tim walked into the room and crossed his arms crossed and said, ‘hey Tarsha’, before going on to deliver her first child, Mackenzie.

Speaking to Kispot, Tarsha, from Brisbane, Australia, said: "When I found out I was pregnant, I actually texted him and joked to say how funny it would be if he ended up delivering my baby.

"When they told me it was him, I couldn’t believe it, but I was thinking to myself, ‘Oh that’s fine, it’s not the first time he’s been down there'. Then he just walks in, his arms crossed over and says, ‘Hey Tarsha’, and I went ‘Hey!’”

"Tim held his hand on my stomach and told me when to push, and he ended up being the one to pull her out, do her checks and wrap her up for the first time."

Tarsha explained that the only person who was shocked by Tim's arrival was Mackenzie's dad, who said "are you f******g kidding" before everyone calmed down and focussed again on the birth.

After the birth, Tim stayed past the end of his shift to spend time with the new parents, and he and Tarsha stayed in contact after the big day.

Sometime later, Tarsha text him and said "thanks for delivering my baby lol" and he soon replied, "haha, no problem".
