'He's our leader' - Sabri Lamouchi's full transcript after Nottingham Forest win at Hull City

Sabri Lamouchi hailed Lewis Grabban after the striker scored a brace to see Nottingham Forest return to winning ways in style at Hull City.

Grabban netted 10 minutes in and eight from time at the KCOM, as Forest ended their five-game winless run to secure a first Boxing Day success away from the City Ground since 1991.

The win lifted Forest from tenth to seventh and just two points outside the top six ahead of Sunday's Trentside test against bottom side Wigan Athletic.

Here's what the Frenchman had to say after the game on Humberside....

You must be pleased to return to winning ways, Sabri?

“I am pleased, it is the first Boxing Day victory for five or six games so I am happy for the fans, for the players. The way we played, we deserved the three points. We scored two goals and kept a clean sheet, I am very happy for that.

"The performance was not so big but we deserved to win.

“It was important to win to show that we are there and we will not give up. Sometimes we deserved better results and this is football.

"We need to keep working hard, be patient and consistent and in this league that is very important."

What changed from Huddersfield and those games before?

“The mentality was key, when we play like this it is difficult for the opponent. They have Bowen and Grosicki, their two best players, and they didn’t create a lot.

"We had Tobias, Joe Worrall, Cashy, Chema, Samba Sow, they didn’t have a lot to do tonight and we deserved the result, a very good result away from home.”

Just how good is Lewis Grabban?

“Grabban is our leader, our striker and he can make the difference.

“He is a fantastic player, a fantastic man and he deserved to score. He was the man of the match today but the whole team deserved the victory.

“It was a fantastic clean sheet for me, it was really important.

"The mentality was good and now we need to recover, focus on Wigan at home and remember that we lost against them before. We have to be consistent, efficient, keep calm and keep working.”

What’s the situation with Samba Sow?

“I don’t think it is serious.

"It was just a kick.

“I don’t know if he will be fit for Sunday of course, we will check that tomorrow.

“But I don’t think it is serious.

“It was just a kick, nothing too bad.

“But he could not continue to play.”

Having Carl Jenkinson back on the bench must be a boost?

“I have a good squad, good guys, who are all working hard.

"I don’t have any problems making a line-up.

Forest's Carl Jenkinson warms up (Dan Westwell)

“We just need to have the right spirit and to keep going.”
