'He's no Thomas Partey' - Arsenal fans deliver brutal verdict on Jorginho transfer links

Arsenal have been linked with a shock move for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.

Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his midfield options this summer, with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar of Lyon key targets.

But now, according to Sky Sports, a new name has emerged as a possible transfer target.

Jorginho’s future at Stamford Bridge had come into question this summer with Frank Lampard spending big to shape his side in his own way.

And with finances needed to come in through player sales, the Italian midfielder was one potentially on his way out.

Arsenal fans were less than impressed with the rumour, instead wanting them to push ahead with plans to sign either Partey or Aouar.

@porkyarmy: No more Chelsea rejects.

@Bips_D: He wont really be an upgrade. Just a right footed Xhaka.

@BagofMind: A swap deal between Jorginho and Guendozi.

@GabiGooner35: A less talented Xhaka no thanks.

@Elvo_L: Elneny is better than Jorginho. Back pass merchant, hell no, not at my club!

@sjneighbour: What for, we never get penalties....?

@g0oner135: Backwards passing merchant.

@gunner_irish: Could Jorginho be a smokescreen?

@CA3AS: Jorginho would be a better choice as compared to Partey if we are going to play with 3 CBs throughout the season.

@allarsenalchat: Jorginho is no Thomas Partey. If that’s the option, save our money and stick with what we've got.

@arsenalfc_mark: Letting Torreira go and replacing with Jorginho is a downgrade imo. Can’t see much truth in that rumour.
