'He's lucky it's only his windows' woman brags to cops after smashing spree at ex's home

A raging woman who panned in her ex-boyfriend’s windows bragged to cops : “He is lucky it is only his windows that I smashed.”

Stacy Bunyon, 35, was caught red-handed after causing £2,000 worth of damage to the property in Ferguslie Park, Paisley which belongs to her ex-partner Dale Mitchell.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Bunyon and another woman were spotted leaving the address on April 8 by officers who had been sent to the disturbance at Ferguslie Walk.

Procurator fiscal depute Andrew Brown said: “At around 8.40pm, police in the control room received a number of anonymous calls from members of the public stating there was an ongoing disturbance at Ferguslie Walk, in Paisley.

“Details provided stated that windows had been smashed at a house in Ferguslie Walk.

“Police officers on uniformed mobile patrol attended at the scene and, on arrival, two females – the accused Stacy Bunyon and another woman – were seen the leaving the address.

“On seeing police arrive, both females attempted to walk past the police vehicle.

“Stacy Bunyon had blood smears on her clothing and small cuts to her hands.”

Police spoke to her and she blurted out: “F*****g p***k. ‘He is lucky it is only his windows that I smashed.”

She was arrested and taken into police custody.

Yesterday, Bunyon appeared in the dock before Sheriff Eoin McGinty where she pleaded guilty to a charge of wilfully and recklessly destroying property by smashing Mr Mitchell’s windows.

She also admitted a charge of breaching conditions of bail barring her from approaching or contacting him.

The court was told three double-glazed units with a value of £2,000 had been vandalised by Bunyon.

Defence agent Gemma Elder said her client, of Paisley, and Mr Mitchell were no longer in a relationship.

She said: “She has limited recollection of the events before your Lordship.

“At the outset, she accepted her responsibility and takes no issue with what has been divulged.

“She first became aware of the matter at the police station when she was advised of what she was charged with.

“She understands her behaviour is entirely inappropriate and unacceptable.”

Ms Elder said her client was still battling a drink problem, but urged the court to hand her community-based sentence.

Sheriff McGinty told her: “I consider this to be an exceptionally serious offence.

“Not only were you subject to bail conditions prohibiting you from approaching Ferguslie Walk and contacting Mr Mitchell, you went there to contact him and smashed his windows causing £2,000 of damage.”

He told her he came very close to locking her up, but decided to spare her custody by handing her an alternative to jail.

She will be fitted with an electronic tag for 160 days requiring her to remain indoors between 7pm and 7am each day.

She was also placed under mandatory supervision by the local authority for two years and handed a £1,000 fine.

Bunyon was given a two-year Non Harrassment Order, barring her from contacting or approaching Mr Mitchell.

She will appear for a review of her conduct on August 10.
