‘He’s gonna dismember me’: Woman gets huge ick after guys sends cringe-inducing voice note after exchanging a single message

Cringey pick-up lines are pretty common on dating apps and while some people may like that, there’s definitely a limit. One woman on TikTok has shared what has got to be one of the most cringe-inducing voice notes ever from a man whom she’d messaged once on Hinge.

The viral clip was posted to TikTok by a woman named Cindy across a four part saga, and each is somehow worse than the last. While there’s nothing wrong with sending a voice note rather than texting, there is something very wrong with sending a 5 minute voice note that details an imaginary date with Cindy in which he pictures himself as a smooth-talking gentleman while he portrays Cindy as being head-over-heels for him.

A friend records Cindy’s uneasy and at times downright horrified reactions to the man’s bizarre descriptions as he describes the imaginary dress she’ll be wearing on the date and the imaginary kiss they would share at the end of it. Watching her face go from shock to confusion to downright terror is hilarious in its own right as she jokes “He’s gonna dismember me.”

It’s just plain weird, especially since they know next to nothing about each other yet. Props to the guy for putting the effort in I suppose but I’m willing to bet this approach has yielded zero results so far.

TikTok gets the ick

Cindy wasn’t alone in her horrified response to the lengthy voice notes as others on the app piled on and made a mockery of the man in the comments. “Some serious Buffalo Bill vibes,” one viewer joked, referring to the serial killer from The Silence of the Lambs. “This is the audio they play in the Peacock documentary after he’s in custody,” wrote another.

Other viewers compared it to the infamous Dimitri voicemail, which went viral on TikTok back in 2023 for the strange and entitled rant the man went on after being ignored by a woman he was interested in. Others questioned whether he was sending the exact same voice note to multiple girls on the app as some of the details he mentions in his message don’t match with Cindy, perhaps he intentionally kept it vague so he wouldn’t have to re-record the message.

Regardless, this guy’s voice note certainly ruined his chances of ever getting that date he imagined as the monologue seems to have made every woman and man that watched the video curl up into a ball of cringe. This is the polar opposite of rizz.
