Former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur defender Sol Campbell has left League Two side Macclesfield Town.
Having spent eight months with the Silkmen, Campbell has parted ways after a "mutual agreement" between the parties.
Campbell managed to steer Macclesfield away from relegation last season when an immediate return to the Conference looked inevitable before his arrival.
Macclesfield had also made a positive start to the new season, with their narrow opening day defeat to Exeter followed up by a 3-0 win over Leyton Orient and penalty shoot-out win over Blackpool in the Carabao Cup.
However, Campbell has now left the club, after the League Two side announced a "mutual parting of ways."
Upon his departure, Campbell released the following statement.
He said: "Macclesfield Town provided me with a great beginning in the managerial side of the game, as well as a fantastic learning curve which I am truly grateful for.
"I would like to thank all the players and staff for their support during my time at the Moss Rose and also all the loyal fans, whose belief at the end of last season ultimately played a tangible role in our success."
