A woman’s joke may have been taken too seriously after she found a hair product in her boyfriend’s bathroom. In a viral TikTok, Ria (@riarinini) “exposed” how her boyfriend was seeing another woman after she found a Ouai product.
Ria, whose clip earned more than 170,000 views, films herself in her boyfriend’s bathroom. She whispers to her viewers conspiratorially: “Why did I just come to my man’s bathroom and find this?” Ria lifts up a travel-sized bottle of leave-in conditioner. Ouai is a popular haircare brand with a cult following, and its smallest conditioner retails for $16.
By the way Ria is holding it, and her expression, it’s clear the bottle is not hers. She sucks her teeth and says, “We gon’ find out today.” In the text overlay, Ria wrote why it is even more suspicious that he has that product: “He’s BALD.”
In her caption, Ria said her “insecurities are showing” and added the hashtag #otherwoman.
Was there really another woman?
It didn’t take long for Ria to defend her man in the comments after girlies came for his throat. Several viewers–mostly women–were furious on her behalf.
“Oh he’s cheating,” a user simply stated.
“Also that stuff is almost $20,” another said. “NO WAY a straight man would buy it for himself. Run away girl!”
Several were of the opinion that this “other woman” left it for Ria to find.
“She left it so you would find it,” one said, while another echoed, “She left it for you (or anyone) to see if it disappeared. It was probably just chilling in her purse for so long, she decided that was the item to give up to leave behind.”
However, Ria had to jump in and clarify that there was no other woman, just some boredom.
“Update: I like to cause drama and it was a joke [crying emoji] he lives with other people,” she wrote.
While Ria may have just posted the TikTok for laughs, for some women, situations like these are all too real.
Caught in 4K
Stories of women finding things in their boyfriend’s bathroom or car are not uncommon, and many have shared their heartbreak online so other women don’t feel alone.
In a TikTok the Mary Sue covered, one woman found someone else’s Louis Vuitton purse in her boyfriend’s car. It was so conspicuously placed, viewers were convinced the other woman left it on purpose for the girlfriend to find.
In another, a woman found out her boyfriend was cheating because she noticed marks left behind on his windshield from an Octobuddy. An Octobuddy is a phone case that has suction cups so people can stick them to surfaces to film themselves, touch up their makeup, etc. The TikToker did not own an Octobuddy, and so arrived to the conclusion another woman had been in her boyfriend’s car.
One woman flew to another state to meet up the man she was talking to, only to find not-so-subtle hints a woman was living with him. Rummaging through is bathroom, she came across lashes and various feminine toiletries. She ended up booking a flight home and ghosting him.

Why do people cheat?
Getting cheated is a major worry for most, if not all, people in monogamous relationships. The reasons why someone may cheat span the gamut, and it rarely has to do with the person being cheated on or how they look (just think of all the beautiful women–including models and celebrities–that have been cheated on.) Despite the heartbreak and devastation it brings, there’s still a whopping 40% of married couples that are affected by infidelity.
A VeryWellMind article reported that a study revealed the most common reasons for cheating. They included anger, low self-esteem, lack of love, low commitment, need for variety, neglect, desire, and circumstance.
