'He's back home' — how Manchester United fans have reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo announcement

Manchester United have completed the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus — and fans could not be happier.

United announced the deal for the Portugal legend on deadline day, shortly after Juventus confirmed the move in a deal worth an initial €15million with a further €8million in add-ons payable over five years.

Ronaldo returns to the club after 12 years away, where he scored 450 goals in 438 games for Real Madrid before joining Juventus and scoring 101 goals in 134 games for the Serie A side over three years.

Now 36-years-old, Ronaldo returns to Old Trafford on a two-year contract with the option of a third year and fans have reacted with pure delight and elation across social media at the news.

Here's what they said:

Ronaldo is expected to make his second debut for United against Newcastle on September 11th at Old Trafford following the international break.

He is currently with the Portuguese national team training in Lisbon before their scheduled games against Republic of Ireland, Qatar and Azerbaijan.

The striker will then return to Manchester for training ahead of a return to action in the Premier League.
