The Life of Chuck is a moving piece about life, love, grief, and living while we can. And we were lucky enough to speak with the cast about the film!
During the press junket for The Life of Chuck, I spoke with the entire cast and creatives behind the Stephen King adaptation. And it was beautiful to talk with everyone about their journey through Chuck and getting to work on this Mike Flanagan film.
One of the aspects of The Life of Chuck I love the most is the fact that we see Chuck at distinct places in his life. Meaning when Tom Hiddleston is playing Chuck, that’s our first interaction with him but we also have wonderful moments with the younger versions of the character later on. For an actor, I have to imagine seeing a younger actor create a character based on your work has to be moving to watch. Tom Hiddleston agreed.
“Such a beautiful question. I’m so genuinely grateful you’ve asked it,” Hiddleston said. “When I saw the film for the first time I was completely overwhelmed by the performances of Benjamin Pajak and Jacob Trembley and Cody Flanagan, it was so moving to see them kind of inhabit Chuck and to witness their sweetness and their hopefulness and their openness and their commitment and their passion and their enthusiasm. It’s such an honor to share it with them. I really think that Benjamin is remarkable. And I’m very, very moved by his performance. It’s an extraordinary piece of work. I just find it so incredibly tender and full and deeply good and honest and he moves me to tears.”
I agree with Hiddleston. Chuck is not just one person’s performance. He belongs to all four of these brilliant actors! You can see our interviews with the cast here:
