'He made Van Dijk look like Mustafi!' Serge Gnabry's latest heroics have Liverpool fans raging

Arsenal fans are once again scratching their heads over how the club allowed Serge Gnabry to slip through their fingers after the Germany winger showed his class in a tangle with Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk.

Bayern Munich signed the winger in 2017 for a mere £5million after a disasterous loan spell at West Bromwich Albion and another stint away from the Emirates with Weder Bremen leaving the youngster determined to leave for first team football and the Bundesliga giants convinced of his quality.

He ran rings around Van Dijk, a centre-back tipped as a potential winner of the Premier League player of the season award, to score Germany's second goal in an international clash with the Netherlands.

Why did Serge Gnabry leave Arsenal? The story of Arsene Wenger's big regret

Cutting inside from the left, he gave the defender the slip to get the ball on to his right foot and curled a shot into the far corner to put away a stunning moment of individual skill.

On social media, Arsenal supporters were left counting the cost of seeing the player realise his potential elsewhere. He had previously impressed in action for Bayern earlier this season in the Champions League.

Some even suggested the Dutchman had been made to look like Shkodran Mustafi - or even his club mate Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool fans were less than impressed with the reaction and quickly jumped in to defend their defender.

Here is how they responded on Twitter.
