'He made us proud every single day'... devastated family's tribute after concierge at city centre flats, 22, takes his own life

The family of a young dad from north Manchester who took his own life has paid tribute to him.

Connor Bond, 22, was found dead on Sunday, February 16, after falling from an apartment block on Greengate where he worked as a concierge.

He had a six-month-old daughter called Miley.

His dad Stephen, 40, said he was always 'very happy' but 'something made him switch that night'.

Paying tribute to his son, he said: "He was the most loving person. He was always putting himself out there.

"He was a singer and actor. He loved singing anything to do with the Rat Pack or Dean Martin - he was like an old man.

"It's going to be hard.

"He had loads of friends. The house has been so busy.

"He was good on the Gay Village - everyone has been coming and asking for our number.

"He was always in there singing karaoke. Someone phoned up and said he was always putting his name in for karaoke - he was always someone putting a song request in. Connor got the party going.

"Something made him switch that night."

The Manchester City fan lived in Miles Platting with his parents Stephen Bond and Allison Bond.

He went to Our Lady's school in Blackley.

He used to work abroad singing in Greece for entertainment companies.

Connor moved to Scotland before coming back to Manchester and working as a concierge.

Tributes have also been paid to Connor on Facebook.

Leah Welsby wrote: "Still can't come round that you are gone. Still feels like you are still here with us."

While Craig Bowers posted: "I'm really missing you Connor Bond. Miss our late night chats while we were at work.

"You're a legend and I will always be thinking of you."

A fundraising page has been set up to help pay for Connor's funeral.

On it, Connor's family write: "It is with great sadness and deep heartache that we are writing this for our son Connor Bond who sadly took his own life on Sunday 16th February 2020.

"As a family we are grieving and hoping to give our son Connor the send off he deserves.

"Our Connor was an actor and singer who loved Rat Pack music. He was well known by everyone and helped anyone where he could.

"The room lit up when Connor walked in and everyone who knew him knew how much he loved and cherished every one of his family and friends.

"He was the best son, brother, father, nephew and grandson, that we could have wished him to be and he made us proud every single day of his life.

"Due to the shock and the quickness of what has happened as a family we are not able to give Connor the send off he deserves without a little help please if you can spare anything to help us give  Connor the best funeral it would be greatly appreciated."
