'He has a lot to think about' - Sporting boss delivers Bruno Fernandes update

Sporting Lisbon manager Marcel Keizer believes Bruno Fernandes has “a lot to think about” ahead of Thursday's transfer window deadline.

Fernandes has been continually linked with a move away from the Portuguese side this summer, with a host of clubs from around Europe reportedly interested in the midfielder.

But it now appears to be a two horse race for the 24-year-old's signature, with Spurs and Manchester United both battling it out, although the pair, according to reports, aren't keen on paying Sporting's £63million asking price.

And Keizer, speaking ahead of his side's Portuguese Super Cup game against Benfica on Sunday, said: ”If everything goes according to normal, he will play.

“Obviously this attention can move the player, it is normal.

“But I believe that Bruno, who is a very good person, has the competence to put it aside and play, as he did in pre-season.

“He has a lot to think about, like all the players who are coveted.”
