Tributes are being paid to a missing man after police revealed a body had been found in East Lothian.
We told how the body of a man was discovered ear to a woodland area in North Berwick.
The tragic discovery was made at around 4pm on Wednesday.
Formal identification is yet to take place but the family Kieran Dixon, reported missing from Dunbar on Tuesday, have been informed.
The heartbreaking news sparked a outpouring of grief and tributes from loved ones on social media.
'Gutted' friends hailed Kieran, 34, for having a 'heart of gold'.
One said: "We are gutted Kieran but you finally at peace.
"My thoughts go out to your family.
An former colleague added: "He was a really nice guy.
"I used to work with him.
"He (Kieran) had a heart of gold as well.
"Very sad news."
Another loved one said: "How sad.
"RIP, Kieran."
A fourth added: "Absolutely gutted.
"Hope you’re at peace now, Kiks."
Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the 'sudden death'.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A statement was released by East Lothian Police Division on Thursday morning.
It read: "Police Scotland can confirm that around 4pm on Wednesday, June 9 the body of a man was found near to woodlands in North Berwick.
"Although formal identification has still to take place, the family of Kieran Dixon, 34, reported missing from Dunbar on Tuesday, June 8 has been informed.
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
"As with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
